Chandler Home Community

As late as the early 1980’s, Chandler was still a sleepy little Southwest town with a population of less than 40,000 people, some in Chandler proper and the rest in the outlying farming communities. Today Chandler has a population of nearly 250,000 people, a booming economy with employers like Intel and Orbital and everything you could want in upscale shopping and dining. Even with the rapid growth, Chandler has remained true to its roots. The locals know you don’t want to miss the Ostrich races that happen downtown once a year or the lighting of the tree at Tumbleweed Park in December. We know you can still get great hometown Mexican food at Elmer’s or Espinosa’s like the Chandler natives have done for decades.

Northwest Chandler is a neighbor to South Tempe and Ahwatukee and share their elementary schools and middle schools in the award winning Kyrene School District. The high school students in this part of Chandler attend Corona del Sol, just across the Tempe border from Chandler.

Along the Chandler Blvd. corridor between I-10 and the 101 freeway, you’ll find fabulous shopping and dining. The Chandler Fashion Square Mall and Fashion Village have the best of upscale shopping and great discount outlets. You’ll countless choices of any type of food you like, from the fast to the gourmet.

Some favorite subdivisions are Wildtree, Carrillo Ranch and Park Promenade, all surrounding fabulous Desert Breeze Park, with acres of play space and even it’s own train to take you on a tour of the park. http://www.arizonaandpacificrr.com/spot/desertbreeze/newdesertbreeze.html
