Mesa Home Community

As the 3rd largest city in Arizona, Mesa is a Sonoran Desert Oasis, with a population of over 450,000 residents.  Mormon colonists from Salt Lake City, UT founded the city of Mesa in 1878.

The Valley’s eastern city of Mesa lies about 12 miles east of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.  (http://www.phoenix-phx.com/ )   You might even choose to fly directly into Mesa, via Phoenix-Mesa Gateway airport. (http://www.phxmesagateway.org/FlightArrivalsandDepartures.aspx )

In Mesa, your family can enjoy picnicking or hiking in lovely Usery Park.  The park adjoins Tonto National Forrest, where you’ll find yourself when you’re only a few hundred steps into the family friendly hike to “Wind Cave”. If you hike to wind cave, bring some raw nuts or other healthy snack for the chipmunks. They get a little testy if you don’t!   For even more beautiful views and challenging hikes, you can drive just a few minutes east to the Superstition Mountains.

This eastern border of the Greater Phoenix Area has breathtaking natural scenery and is the home to many legends and tall tales from the Gold Rush era.  You can choose to spend hours or days exploring this unspoiled wilderness.

If golfing is more your style, Mesa has several lovely courses to choose from.  You can choose an easier course for a quick 9 after work or you can spend the day on one of the more challenging courses.  (http://www.thegolfcourses.net/golfcourses/AZ/Mesa.htm )

If you are looking for a home in Mesa, you can choose from a retirement village where you may pick up a “snowbird” retreat for under $100K.  You can find a great starter home in one of Mesa’s many family friendly neighborhoods like Dobson Ranch that borders Chandler and Tempe.  Dobson Ranch has been a favorite community for decades.  Mesa Community College, with it’s 15,000 plus student population is within walking distance and Arizona State University lies within a 10 minute ride on the readily accessible Valley Metro public transportation system.  There’s also easy access to the 60 freeway and Loop 101.

Moving into the heart of Mesa, you’ll find Superstition Springs.  Homes in this area range from the modest starter home up to large family residences.  Shopping and Dining is abundant with the Superstition Spring Center (http://www.superstitionsprings.com/ ) at the heart of the region.

If a luxury home with gorgeous desert mountain views or perhaps a lush green golf course at your back door, is what you crave, check out the beautiful Las Sendas community.  If you love Mesa and are looking to “move up”, this could be the perfect spot for your next home.
